Semi-Circle with “Steel Magnolias” – May 2026

Basel’s English-language theater company Semi-Circle is presenting Robert Harling’s «Steel Magnolias» at Kulturhuus Häbse in Basel from 11-14 June, with five performances including weekend matinees. Set in a small Louisiana town, this much-loved comedy-drama follows six women whose friendships help them navigate life’s joys and heartbreaks, revealing the strength beneath their charm and humour.

The production is co-directed by Carrie Aikman and Scott Holland. Laura Dorman stars as Truvy, the lively and warm-hearted owner of the local beauty salon. Performances begin at 7:30pm or 2:00pm, with doors opening 30 minutes earlier for drinks and snacks. Tickets are available via the Semi-Circle website.
