This week brings plenty of entertainment around Basel: on Sunday, Münsterberg becomes the setting for Basel’s colourful Soap Box Car Race, with homemade racers speeding from Münsterplatz down Freie Strasse. Meanwhile, Sissach is hosting five evenings of open-air cinema, while Arlesheim offers two special outdoor film nights with food and entertainment. For something more leisurely, hop aboard the solar ferry for a 25-minute tour of Basel’s harbour and its industrial waterfront.
If you’re looking to spruce up your home and spend some time in one of Basel’s many lovely neighbourhoods, this weekend hosts two neighbourhood open-air flea markets. The first is Saturday in Neubad. The next is Sunday in Bottmingen. Each sale starts at 10:00 in the morning.

For a little music at the start of your Sunday, the free concerts in Meriangärten continue this weekend. The classical music performance runs from 11:00-11:45. The Floss music festival is taking place along the Rhein. Go by and check out the tunes. And the Basel Muma Music Marathon goes from Friday all the way to Saturday. It showcases outstanding artists from all over Switzerland.
If you’re looking for a chuckle, The Beast Comedy Club is having a Sunset Comedy Show on Thursday. Join Albert Louw and other comedians to watch a great show in a perfect setting.
